The Client

HempMeds drives innovation through their team of hemp industry pioneers and natural product experts. Drawing on their talents, they are proud to offer only the highest quality consumer products featuring Hemp CBD Oil. They became the Trusted CBD Source™ because their quality standards lead the industry. They believe that science is their biggest ally, and thus their goal is to constantly improve and innovate. This is why they devote considerable resources to cannabinoid research, professional education and product development. Their commitment to science is embodied in their exhaustive testing requirements that start at their proprietary hemp seeds and extend to every single product they bring to market.


The Objective

The initial direction for this site was to create an image-heavy promotional corporate website. The site was originally intended to function primarily as a marketing tool with eCommerce functionality. The site needed to prominently feature four main product lines and offer each lines individual products for sale. The client wanted a WordPress site that would easily be maintained via the WordPress CMS. They were using UltraCart for their checkout but needed custom pages designed to mirror the navigation and design of the main site.

After the first concept was launched the client shifted gears and requested the site be focussed on converting traffic into sales. This new direction called for a totally different design. I wanted to maintain some of the original design aesthetic but introduce a new purchasing process that would more effectively funnel customers through to conversion. The new design would also have support SEO campaigns.


The Solution

The original version of this site was visually stunning. I created and featured custom marketing images throughout the site. The user experience was fluid and cohesive as I utilized several graphic motifs across multiple pages.

The rebrand of the site brought new challenges as the client needed pages that would offer better conversion rates. I created and split tested several page layout before a clear winner emerged. The new design was then introduced throughout the site.

The new product pages introduced custom product purchasing modules controlled by a custom-made WordPress/Ultracart plugin.
